Hall Hire

Our Den (hall) St Coca’s hall is in the heart of the Kilcock community and is home to our Scout Group comprised of sections that cater from 6 – 21+ year olds. In addition to the scout users of the hall we are pleased, if possible, to make the hall available for other groups. This policy confirms the Hall Hire Terms and Conditions and must be accepted for a booking. If anything is unclear, please contact us (see details below) for more information before requesting a booking.
The hall is reserved for use by the sections of the group in the evenings on at least three days of the week but at other times is available for hire for occasional or regular bookings for other events; community groups; clubs; social and leisure organisations; and commercial organisations for the purposes of meetings/training etc. Please note we do not generally rent the hall to private individuals for birthday parties. We will consider private bookings on an exceptional, case by case basis. Please contact us (see details below) if you wish to ask about a private booking.
Kilcock Scouts welcomes users of its premises and facilities, both in helping with the costs of upkeep of the building and as a practical way of supporting local community.

Hall and facilities
The building’s facilities can be hired between 8am and 10pm and include.

• Large hall (maximum capacity 150 seated, or up to 300 standing only), Note: Covid-19 public health guidelines may reduce this capacity.
• Width 7.5m x approx. Length 22.5m
• Height – the main hall ceiling rises from 2.1m to 4.2cm
• Door width into the main hall is 154cm (5’0”)
• Additional smaller meeting (committee) room (5.5m x 6.5m)
• Kitchen with appliances and small items – crockery, cutlery etc
• Toilets and separate disabled facilities
• Baby changing facility (in toilets)
• lightweight tables and benches
• Stacking chairs
• Small External Garden/Paved area
• First aid box
• Data Projector and Amplifier system in Main Hall.

Bouldering Wall

• The den is equipped with 60m2 bouldering wall.
• The bouldering wall and safety matting is strictly off limits unless separate written agreement is obtained.
• The climbing and bouldering activities have a risk of serious injury or death and therefore all hall hirers must ensure that you and your group do hot climb or tamper with the wall or safety matting in any way.

Charges

The charges for the hire of the hall are as follows:

• Main Hall €25 per hour (Minimum booking 2 hours)
• Main Hall €20 per hour for block bookings (of more than 6 hours per week in total, for a maximum of six months at a time)
• Committee Room Only €15 per hour (minimum 2 hours)
• Scout Sleepover Rate: €7.50 per head per night (minimum charge 100 euro per night for groups less tan 15).

Charges and the lettings policy will be reviewed on an annual basis and hirers will be given at least six weeks’ notice of any changes in fees or conditions.

Note: Hirers must have a current public indemnity insurance policy in place, as Scouting Ireland insurance does not cover non-members. CURRENT VALID Letter of indemnity must be provided.

Refundable deposits to cover rubbish clearance, minor damage and/or breakages:

• €50 per booking for occasional hirers.
• Block Bookers to pay four sessions in advance (Minimum).
• All bookings cancelled with less than 7 days’ notice are fully chargeable
