Roverway 2018 Netherlands

Roverway is a challenging event for ventures and rovers [16-22yrs] which is being organised by Scouting Netherlands.

With over 3000 Ventures/Rovers/Rangers from across Europe and further afield, it is an opportunity for this age range to have a jamboree type experience just for them!

After spending the night on the beach after the opening ceremony, patrols [6-8 people] will travel in international crews of about 6/7 patrols on their chosen paths, which will take place across throughout The Netherlands. The paths will be quite varied and you get to choose, with your patrol, before you go, your preference of paths. Different paths will have a different focus, with themes such as culture, adventure, justice & peace, innovation and energy all available. A great bond will develop between all the patrols in each crew and great friendship will be made.

It is possible for venture leaders/rover advisors to travel on these paths also, as it is permitted for the patrol leader of each patrol to be over the age of 22. Please tick the relevant box in the application form if you wish to avail of this opportunity.

After the paths, all crews and their patrols will travel to Zeewolde International Scout and Guide centre where the rest of Roverway will take place. A lot more activities are planned for the main camp with lots of entertainment throughout the day, evening and late into the night.

The dates of Roverway are from 23rd July – 2nd August, but the Irish Contingent will continue on its adventure with a Post-Camp in Berlin, Germany, before returning home on 5th August.

If you are over the age of 22, and still want to go, but not as a patrol leader, then the opportunity is there for you to be part of the International Service Team [IST] and have a great experience as part of the team making the event happen.
