Quality Scouting Experience

The aim of Quality Scouting Experience (QSE) is to provide a structured framework for Scouts and Scouters to think critically about how their Scout Group functions. It encourages members of the Scout Group to express what Scouting means to them collectively and individually and also to the community and the environment. It is designed as a tool to enable Scout Groups produce a Group Development Plan. Employing an holistic approach, it strives to create a strong sense of shared ownership and responsibility.

All adult and youth members from all sections are invited to participate and in fact it is vital that they do as the scout group belongs to everyone.

  • Scouts, Venturers, Rovers , Scouters and Patents Committee. 9.45am to 4pm
  • Beavers and Cubs 9.45am to 12.15 pm

10.30 ‘Where we are’ – Map Making

11.00 Coffee

11.15 ‘Where we are’ – Star Exploration

11.45 ‘Where we are’ – Statements

12.15 Lunch ( and finish time for cubs and beavers)

13.15 ‘Where we are’ – Review

13.20 ‘Where we’re going’ – The ‘perfect’ Scout Group

13.40 ‘Where we’re going’ – List building

14.00 ‘Where we’re going’ – Prioritisation

14.20 Coffee

14.40 ‘How we get there’ – Plan building
